Living in the desert, I have to go above and beyond when it comes to skin care. The climate here is arid and unforgiving. If you aren’t careful, you could easily damage your skin beyond repair. I learned the hard way that a dry climate and extreme heat, call for a special routine.
Before I moved to Phoenix, I was born and raised in a very wet climate, so my skin did not like the dry weather. It didn’t take long before my skin, that was used to abundant moisture, started developing dry patches and noticeable skin unevenness.
Ain’t nobody got time for that!
I was determined to crack the code and develop a new routine for my dry skin. Over past the 10 years, I’ve been experimenting and playing around with different brands, products and methods to try and keep my skin moisturized.
I’m happy to say that the obsession, and the skin care hauls (to my husband’s dismay), finally paid off. I found the perfect skin care for dry skin, and I have to share because the world needs to know! Lol. But seriously, your skin is sooooo important, and a few minutes each day and night could completely transform your face.
Yes a few minutes! This routine is only three steps for all us lazy girls and busy bosses. Plus all the products are natural and paraben free.
Let’s get started!
My summer skin care routine:
Step 1: Gently apply 1 or 2 pumps of Eau Thermale Avène Cleansing Foam to wet skin.
I’ve experimented with a lot of cleansers, and this one is my favorite because it doesn’t dry out your skin. It’s soap free and it’s formulated with avène thermal spring water.
Plus it feels delicious on your skin! It’s light, with a fresh fragrance, and almost a silky type feel on your skin.
Step 2: While the cleanser is still on your face, use a pureSOL Konjac Sponge with Bamboo Charcoal* to gently massage your skin in a circular motion.
I’ve been using this product for a long time and saw a noticeable difference. When I added these babies to my routine, one thing stood out that I never saw before in any other product. My actual skin texture changed. It became smoother and silkier. It’s a unique little sponge that is hard at first, but when wet turns soft, and it pulls out the impurities while brightening your skin.
Important, before moving on to the next step, let your skin THOROUGHLY dry. This is critical for any successful skin care routine.
Step 3: Close your eyes and mist your face and neck with Mario Badescu Facial Spray.
Created especially for dry climates this is my favorite step! The mist is made with Aloe Herbs and Rosewater and smells amazing. And it doesn’t disturb your makeup, so you can use it as a finishing spray too!
Again, before moving on to the next step, let your skin thoroughly dry.
Step 4: Gently, using your fingertips, massage your face and neck with Leven Rose’s Organic Jojoba Oil
I’ve tried a ton of oils in my skin care routine, and I’ve noticed that they all clog my pores or just sit on top of my skin.
Jojoba oil is different. It is VERY similar to the natural oils that your body makes, so it’s absorbed quickly. Also, I find it actually to be moisturizing. It soothes and helps protect dry skin.
And that’s it! A quick, easy, natural, paraben free, summer skin care routine for busy ladies.
* Because I am such a fan, pureSol reached out to me and sent me free product. I was over the moon! Even though this portion is sponsored, please believe that I 100% stand by this product and would recommend to my mother.
